Garment Condition & Damage
Pre-Hire Condition
All garments are checked before collection and any existing imperfections are noted and/or photographed. Dresses are worn multiple times so some minor imperfections may be present and if so are factored into your hire fee.
Damage or Loss
From the moment a garment is collected, full responsibility for its safekeeping passes to the client.
At the time of collection, all garments should be carefully inspected by you, the client. By taking the garment, you acknowledge that you are satisfied with its condition. Any existing flaws should be brought to our attention before you leave — any issues discovered after collection will be considered your responsibility.
We completely understand that accidents can happen! If a dress is returned with damage or stains, we’ll use part or all of the bond to cover cleaning or repair costs.
If the damage exceeds the bond, or if the garment is returned in a condition that renders it unwearable (whether due to stains, tears, or structural damage), the customer is responsible for paying the full retail replacement cost. This applies regardless of whether the damage was accidental or due to negligence. The garment remains the property of Glamourhouse.
In these rare cases, Glamourhouse will also charge for any subsequent missed bookings if the damage results in cancellation of another customer's hire.
Only Glamourhouse-approved cleaners or repairers may be used.
It is extremely rare for this to happen — but please take care of your dress. Major damage or permanent staining can result in the item needing replacement or being permanently marked down, which may incur additional charges.
If the Dress is Damaged Before Your Booking
In the unlikely event that the dress you booked is damaged before your hire date, you will be offered:
-
An alternative available dress to wear, or
-
A 12-month credit for the full value of your hire.
During Wear
Please take care with your garment! Avoid stains (makeup, fake tan, drinks), rough surfaces (bricks, concrete), lash & nail glue & dress/boob tape or glue on external dress surfaces. Be mindful of pointy heels, jewellery. Block heels are safer than stilettos. Dresses with trains require extra care outdoors. Further details can be found under "Garment Care".
